Meet the Nigerian visual artist turning coffee into fine art

A few years ago a fortunate accident in a Lagos coffee shop opened up a completely new art form for Nigerian artist Ekene Ngige.

The patterns and textures made by a spilled cappuccino onto his notebook sparked the thought that he might experiment with coffee as an art medium.

Now Ngige paints portraits and objects using his innovative art material. His work focusses on many of the world’s current events, and I bet it smells great too.
