Moon landing in Exeter Cathedral as part of art installation
A new heavenly wonder is about to land in Exeter Cathedral as part of a touring art installation.
The seven-metre replica of the moon is the brainchild of artist Luke Jerram.
'Museum of the Moon' will descend on the cathedral in February and stay for most of the month. The 1 to 500,000 scale celestial sculpture features high resolution NASA imagery of the lunar surface.
Each centimetre of the internally lit orb represents 5km of the moon’s landscape.
