London's About To Get A Unique New Photography Gallery
Britain’s best photography is about to get a lot more exposure.
Because as of next week, the city – nay, the nation – is getting its first museum to be entirely dedicated to UK-based snappers. And it’s going to carry that message in its wonderfully literal name, too: Centre For British Photography. Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect…
The venue itself will be a three-story affair, taking a fairly sizeable 8000sq ft chunk out of central Mayfair – on Jermyn Street, no less. But fear not, because it’s also going to be completely free to visit, all year round. Inside, you’ll be able to peruse exhibitions, attend talks, take part in events, and shop in a shop.
